Trouble Tracer
Autofahrt
(CVC019)
Limited Edition of 50 cassettes & digital download

Facing ignition issues? Looking to identify the symptoms to understand where the problem lies?

Our handy Trouble Tracer® guide offers clear audio examples that will help you diagnose the problem. Whether it be Corona Discharge Stains, Cold/Carbon Fouling, Pad Contamination, Flash Over, Ash Deposits or Detonation we are here to help!

At Trouble Tracer® we know one thing: quality is in the details. And what is true for technological developments is true for adequately identifying issues and matching them with the appropriate solution.

At Trouble Tracer® we also believe that accuracy is best attained by working together. That's why we openly share solutions and lay out in a to-the-point and concise manner a reliable way to diagnose contamination, wear, damage and other potential issues, and how to best return to the ideal standards of performance and efficiency we work with dedication to maintain.

The Trouble Tracer® guide doesn't always give you enough information for you to know exactly what's wrong, but it does mean that you can eliminate everything from the input to the point where the signal changes. It is important to understand that when fault finding, any anomalous voltage is a symptom of the fault, and is not the fault itself.

With its unique patented technology, Trouble Tracer® produces audio and visual signals that technicians easily catch when they tap the target. But nevertheless, it does not require bending, cutting, freezing or any other actions that can damage cables.

Autofahrt is ideal for individuals that have difficulty in differentiating between static and leak noise on an electronic listening stick!

“…there are other noises that can spell trouble, are just irritating, or that can be expensive. How can we tell the difference? It’s certainly not easy. It obviously helps if you can identify the sound and where it’s coming from.”
Sarah H. Sanders

“All of these noises you heard were recorded in the Meagre Resource Workshop and have since been cured. Regular listeners will find out how all these jobs and repairs can be tackled in a way that’s easily understood. Everybody should know these sounds.”
Big Jack Hay

Thanks for listening! And remember: Cause – Remedy – Solution!

New Release: Cahn Ingold Prelog - Accelerate (CVC018) Limited-Edition Cassette & Digital Download

Cahn Ingold Prelog
Accelerate
(CVC018)
Limited Edition of 50 cassettes & digital download

Crow Versus Crow is delighted to present, Accelerate, a new body of work from Cahn Ingold Prelog, alias of North Wales-based interdisciplinary artist Simon Proffitt (The Master Musicians of Dyffryn Moor, Carnedd Aur, The Incidental Crack).

Adjusting to the restrictions a national lockdown imposed upon the means and opportunity for creative practice, Proffitt consciously embraced the potentially destructive limitations and harnessed them as a positive framework for sonic exploration. Using only a piezoelectric accelerometer, a highly sensitive vibration measurement tool used extensively through various industries to measure small vibrations with frequencies as low as 0.1Hz up to almost 4kHz, and custom amplifier to extract sounds from within the domestic confines.

The act of rummaging around in a drawer for a council tax bill, or searching for a clean fork, once recorded through the piezoelectric accelerometer, are given an almost ceremonial air. Excavated and abstracted, familiar sounds of domestic life are transformed, transmuted, and filled with a deeper, almost spiritual, significance – zen-like, monkish rituals in banality give sonic flickers of gong ritual.

Across ten tracks, Accelerate, presents a combination of unprocessed field recordings and multitracked compositions that harness the objects of domesticity, of the household, revealing the house itself as raw materials from which intricate, complex, delicate compositions emerge, transcending the limitations of their seeming confines. Harnessing mundanity as material, blunt titles such as Fridge and Freezer (Ice Tray) poetically skirt the absurd with a dry humour that offsets the serious intent of such methods of exploration

...‘Transcend’, ‘…Seeking…’, ‘…Search…’, ‘Satellite’ ...

The duality of Meaning and Meaninglessness is a constant through Accelerate and seems to be at the core of the essential questioning that frames its production.

Accelerate is released as a limited edition of 50 hand-numbered, professionally dubbed cassettes and digital download via the Crow Versus Crow Bandcamp on Friday 30^th October 2020.

New Release: Rovellasca 'Delirium, Or Sonata' (CVC017) Limited Edition Cassette & Digital Download

Rovellasca
Delirium, Or Sonata
(CVC017)
Limited Edition of 50 cassettes & digital download

Crow Versus Crow is honoured to present Delirium, Or Sonata, a new body of recordings from Rovellasca, alias of Gateshead (UK) - based interdisciplinary artist Craig Stewart Johnson.

Following releases on such excellent labels as Matching Head, Kirigirisu Recordings, and Aetheric Records, along with his own peerless Invisible City label, Delirium, Or Sonata expands upon Johnson’s sculptural use of sound to explore emotional resonance within delicately constructed monolithic palimpsests.

Uncanny evocations swell from crumbling tape loops. Light and dust. Part and whole. Peripheral hums of industrialia. Entropy. Flux.

I'm keeping the word waxin' deliberately brief on this one in order to not condition a listeners experience - such is my belief in the potential of this record to affect. Slip on your headphones. Sit. Listen long. Sink.

Delirium, Or Sonata is released as a limited edition of 50 hand-numbered, professionally dubbed cassettes and digital download. The physical version is professionally-dubbed on an ice white translucent shell cassette, with on-body printed artwork, in an edition of 50 copies. Full-colour printed heavyweight j-card, housed in a standard white-backed cassette case. Each copy is individually hand-numbered. Artwork by Crow Versus Crow and Craig Stewart Johnson.

Cassette £6
The digital download is available on a 'Name Your Price' basis. If you would like the record but can't afford to pay for it, then please help yourself to it without charge. Otherwise, please pay what you can, or what you think is appropriate, and know that all proceeds go directly in to producing future Crow Versus Crow releases.

New Release: Shit Creek - The Land Of The Remember (CVC016) Limited Edition of 50 CD-Rs & Digital Download

Shit Creek
The Land Of The Remember
(CVC016)
Limited Edition of 50 CD-Rs & digital download

Crow Versus Crow is delighted to present for public absorption a new body of supra-spectral, barely-contained-by-the-medium-of-sound works from Shit Creek, titled, The Land Of The Remember.

It can be difficult to make music about anything other than clinical depression when you're clinically depressed. Similarly, it can be difficult to imagine a reality beyond our own when the one we find ourselves in is so thoroughly depressing. Recorded between October and December 2019, in the midst of the General Election and the dismal sham masquerading as political discourse, The Land of the Remember could be seen as an attempt to forge an alternative - free from the restrictions of stifling oppression and dehumanising, debilitating structures of the contemporary UK.

Jamming the emotive tranquillity of the raga against a glittering technicolour that glitch-flips between atomising anxiety and absolute joy, The Land Of The Remember is an attempt to create the sound of a world beyond, or perhaps reconfigured from, the current socio-political context.

With no beat to anchor, the layers of granular fizz, squelching tropicalia glimmers and discordant plucked whatevers form shifting, expansive plains of multifarious sound, in a psychedelic bricolage of transcendental reconstitutions of the everyday.

The Land Of The Remember is released as a limited edition of 50 hand-numbered CD-Rs and digital download via the Crow Versus Crow Bandcamp on Friday 27th March 2020. The physical version is presented as a full-colour thermal printed CD-R, housed in a folded recycled card sleeve, with full colour artwork by Crow Versus Crow

'SUN FLOW ER - Works on Paper (2018 - 2019) by Andrew Wild' Now Available

SUN FLOW ER
(Works on Paper 2018 - 2019)
by Andrew Wild

A5 48pp full colour mini book printed on 140gsm silk paper with 300gsm recycled card cover. Limited edition of 50 hand-numbered copies

Available now via the Crow Versus Crow Bandcamp

SUN FLOW ER is a collection of lo-fi reproductions of works on paper by Andrew Wild, produced during 2018 and 2019.

The process of making these works was essentially that of sketching - of intellectually forming and physically manifesting ideas through direct manipulation of materials - and were made parallel to larger works on canvas. Many of the main ideas and themes within these works on canvas (a more deliberate, conscious self-reflection; personal histories; ideas of Place; class-consciousness and socioeconomic context, and their intertwining with a sense of Self...) first found their physical form through these works on paper.

Some works contain elements of drawings and texts by Robert Ridley-Shackleton. These were made with the intention of being used as part of the artwork for RRS’ Stone Cold Crazy cassette, released via the Crow Versus Crow label in October 2018. All hail the Cardboard Prince!

SUN FLOW ER is published in an edition of 50 copies by Crow Versus Crow.

All original versions of the works reproduced within SUN FLOW ER are available for purchase. For prices and further enquiries, please email crow_versus_crow@hotmail.co.uk.
